Zog, my first vinyl toy
You may be familiar with one of my characters named Zog, if not by name, then definitely by sight. He’s the big purple guy from the first Somatic icons, and he can often be spotted sleeping on a grassy hill, or hunting marshmallows.
Thanks to the insanely huge help of Strangekiss, Zog has started his journey to become more than just a drawing. In not too long, you’ll be able to hold his rotocast vinyl body in your hands and chase your own marshmallows around the floor. So, to celebrate this great news, I’ve put together a sneak peek of concepts and production art to share.
Samurai Monkey
The protector of the enchanted white bamboo forest.
Samurai Monkey started with a sketch I posted on flickr. It had a lot of positive feedback and it was too much fun to resist from finishing it. So I thought that I would share my process a little bit since I also get many emails asking about how I go about my drawings.
Currently Occupied
Sometimes you have to finish what you’re currently working on before you can go out to play, other times it’s nice to have some peace and quiet to yourself. Either way, this guy is a little tied up at the moment.
King of the Castle
The forest animals are enjoying the first snows of a new winter, even Bill the rare white Yeti joins in the fun.
Agua icons updated
My very popular Agua icons have been completely refreshed and redrawn with up to 512×512 resources for Leopard and 256×256 for Vista.
Wedding and a show
October 27th will be an exciting day for me! First off I will be getting married to my fiancĂ©e Kim who I’ve known since first grade. Also I will be having a drawing in the Pink Ghost group show “Purgatory: Soul’s Lounge”. My drawing is called Ice Cream Social.
Portland Mercury Cover
If you’re in Portland, be sure to check out this month’s issue of the Portland Mercury. It’s using my drawing School Boy, for the cover graphic.
