The last few years, I’ve had an incredible experience partnering Impending and Realmac to create a fully interactive and animated pet for the iPhone, and its now finally ready for its first steps into the wide world. I basically dived into the deep end of animation and learned sooo much in the process, so forgive any rough edges, but I think it’ll steadily improve as I keep learning more and revise my process. That said, I couldn’t be happier with how it’s all come together and how much life we’ve been able to instill.
Hatch exclusively features my artwork with over 15,000 frames of layered animations and environmental depth with parallax, plus I’ve drawn dozens of collectible goodies and decorations for your pet and its surroundings. There’s even some wallpapers generated by the app to match the color of your pet, so if you’ve enjoyed the work on my site over the years, I think you’ll really appreciate all the eye candy we’ve managed to cram into one app.
If you have some time and could use a good friend, I’d love for you to check out Hatch! I hope you love it as much as it loves you :D
We’ve gotten *so much* rain this year, my backyard has been getting quite wild and overgrown as the plants soak up all the tasty water. It made me think of all the times I’ve been hiking and start seeing all these plants you never knew existed. So, whenever you’re deep in the woods and get a feeling that you’re being watched, you probably are. They’re always watching…
I was requested by Daily Sushi¬†to submit a drawing to their amazing collection of sushi inspired illustrations, so of course I couldn’t resist! With some inspiration from photos and experiences I had when visiting Japan a few years ago, I ended up focusing on the sushi chef (Itamae in Japanese) and some of the tools and ingredients used for sushi. Here’s the final drawing for Itamae, and you can also grab a printed version off Society6 (they have free shipping right now).
I have a few new drawings posted up, they were created for the Land Gallery show at the end of last year, but I finally have them ready for my site so everyone can enjoy them! You’ll find Sea Urchin, Totem, and Scout on the main gallery page, enjoy them as always!
A little helpful reminder to always stay hungry and foolish, inspired by the quote from Steve Jobs.
I’ve been wanting a nice subtle desktop for a while and I’ve ended up with one I quite liked a lot. Nothing says quiet and subtle tranquility like the deep depths of the ocean, and there’s lots of friends to be found there as well. Check out the definition of “tinnitus” if you want a hint at the little gem (and the depth of my cheesy titling) hiding among the residents of the high pressure race to the bottom.
